If you're looking for serene quiet environment, the area is covered with greeneries surrounding a man-made lake resembles that of venice river of Italy ( as in the name) perfect for insta shots and nature based backdrop. The management is much to be desired with hiking up maintenance fee despite little change with the landscape and lack of improvements on facilities (my family has been living there since 1996 with two reported case of break ins with no follow up actions aside from changing the security guards and installing CCTV which hasn't proved to be the most effective). Not much facilities as it used to be beside the swimming pool, tennis court, a chinese restaurant and a small room of gym equipment (all maintained not as well as one hope for). Mind you this building was one of the first structure built around the hill of Idaman (Bukit Idaman) so one has to be wary that the interior of the apartment are mostly run down (with terrible water pipeline that needs fixing every now and then). The only space which are livable are either highly maintained or renovated regularly (as in our case). The location is a dream if not safe haven for those who's looking to escape the city bustle yet not totally isolated from it (the city centre is a 15 minutes drive-away on a good traffic). The area is slowly developing with almost all important facility being a few drive away (Selayang Hospital, IDP Gombak, Fire Station, Shopping and Grocery malls, Schools, Restaurants and Cafe's etc.). I may recommend it to those who are looking for a relaxing ambience without up to date modern facilities in the compound (btw, there isn't any elevator service for all the five storey apartment building) Hence for those who are looking for a healthier, organic lifestyle this might just be for you.

There are still few residents allowing their pets lingering at the hallway & worst of it, their pets even urinate infront of neighbor's door. Stubborn & inconsiderate ppl.

Environment not safe. Facility like lift very poor services include the garbage not too clean surrounding area.

Lift and elevator always malfunction and out of order.

If you don't have your own transport, this place might not be the most convenient because there is no access to public transportation here. The nearest bus stop is about 1.7km away. If you were to walk to the bus stop, it would take almost 17 minutes to reach there.

There are quite a few amenities nearby this area such as the Gombak District Library, Selayang Community College, Gombak Land & District Office and Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (SYABAS). One of the major concerns for this area is the access to public transportation. There is only the SMART Selangor bus service but residents from Selayang Heights have to walk on the road downhill to the bus stop. Furthermore, the schedule of the buses could be quite unpredictable at times.

If you have your own transport, this place is a convenient place to stay because it is located near the Kuala Lumpur–Rawang Highway. If you rely on public transportation, this place might not be the most strategic. The nearest bus stop is a downhill walk on the road to Pejabat Tanah & Daerah Gombak and it takes about 20 minutes.
